What is the project?
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Ciudad Acuña: A Space for Creativity and Reflection.
The Museum of Contemporary Art of Ciudad Acuña (MACCA) is a cultural project designed to transform the local artistic scene. Created by artist Gustavo Ramos Rivera, MACCA seeks to celebrate creative diversity and foster dialogue between artists, communities and cultures. This space will serve as a center for exhibitions and educational programs, enriching the artistic experience of local inhabitants and attracting international visitors.
MACCA aspires to be an inclusive and dynamic space where experimentation is celebrated and what is established is questioned. Ramos Rivera, committed to his community, intends to exhibit his work and provide a platform to emerging artists and those whose voices have been historically marginalized.
In addition to the exhibitions, the museum will have educational facilities and work areas for artists in residence.
The strategic location of Ciudad Acuña, on the border between Mexico and the United States, gives MACCA a unique potential to become a cultural reference point. The museum will promote cultural exchange and mutual understanding between the two countries, establishing alliances with cultural institutions globally. MACCA promises to be a beacon of creativity, diversity and dialogue in the region.
